Good morning TGJ4M!

Today you will continue working on yesterday's app reviews.  Remember you must complete three app reviews.  Your blog post is due at the beginning of class tomorrow.  You will present one of your app reviews tomorrow as well.

Think about ways we communicate using film.  Documentary films are created with the purpose of educating others.  Documentary films can be very powerful since they depict real problems, people, places, situations, etc.  TIFF and Hot Docs showcase dozens of documentaries each year with the purpose of informing others.  As a class, we will brainstorm documentary films you have seen and the role they have played in your life and in society.  Each of you will post one film clip/movie trailer in your blog and we will watch and discuss the documentary films in class on tomorrow.  Be sure to include the title of the film, the director and a brief summary.

Good morning TGJ4M!

Today you will be presenting your new media blog posts.  Pleasure ensure you discuss the history, how it impacted society and show relevant images.  Remember to follow along on your computers!

Once the presentations are complete you will research 3 apps and rate them in your blog.  Remember to describe, analyze, interpret and evaluate each app.  I suggest you choose apps you have or are very familiar with.  Don't forget to give each app a rating: 1-5 stars and a thumbs up or thumbs down.  Along with the name of the app and the date is was created, do some research to find out why it was created.  This will be due on Wednesday.

Finally you will begin brainstorming your own idea for an app.  If you had the opportunity what at your fingertips app would you create?  More detailed about this assignment to follow...

Good morning TGJ4M!

Today we will be discussing how to critique our classmate's projects and provide helpful feedback for improvement.  Class critiques will be a regular component of each project.

We will briefly go over each other's blogs and share our first thoughts, discuss what is successful and any improvements that can/should be made.  We will also discuss in general, ways to set up your blog to attract others.

Your media development blog posts and presentations will take place on MONDAY at the beginning of class!

Here is the plan for today's class:

1. Complete your blog design.  Remember to customize your blog to make it unique and to have it represent you who are.  We will be having brief critiques in class TOMORROW morning.

2. Finish your first blog post discussing the impact of media on your life and society.  Please ensure you go back and proofread your first blog post.

3. You will each choose two of the following media developments listed below.  You will choose as a class to avoid any repetition.  You will write 100-150 defining the media, providing images, illustrating the history, describing why this media is/was important in society and how it changed the way we live.  Your blog will be due on MONDAY and brief presentations will take place using your blog post to guide you. I will take the information presented in your blogs to create a handout to share with the class.
